The Department now has an opportunity for a Lecturer to join the team where you will be actively involved in teaching into at least two different areas of the accounting discipline using ‘active learning by doing’ pedagogy principles. You will also work on skills and expertise to undertake innovative teaching practices and content development, as well as being current in Australian accounting regulations and practice.
As a Lecturer, Accounting, you will:
- Maintain deep accounting discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design
- Assist in the integration of industry and research practice to inform unit / course design and teaching practices Participate in teaching teams to develop courses and materials and collaborate to produce innovation in curriculum design
- Deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery
- Contribute to review of units and courses and implement refinements
- Implement creative teaching practices to improve student success and engagement
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in the accounting discipline and the knowledge and ability to teach and develop content in two or more areas in the accounting discipline including AASB/Australian regulatory setting based financial accounting, audit and analytics, management accounting, Penman-based equity valuation, ethics/forensics/financial crime.
- Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including experience in innovative curriculum design
- Emerging reputation in research through publications and commitment to pursue external research funding.
- Ability to contribute to communities through research and emerging ability to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
