• Based in UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance at the City East campus
• Full-time (1.0 FTE) continuing position
• Commencement Salary: (Level A) $96,929 or (Level B) $109,074 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role  

In this position you will be responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship and professional activities of UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance. Your focus will primarily be on coordination and teaching in the Physiotherapy discipline, however, due to an increased focus on multidisciplinary teaching, the position may be required to work with multidisciplinary student groups. 

About Allied Health & Human Performance 

The UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.  

Our degrees meet the evolving needs of the health industry, with our graduates actively contributing to the future health workforce in areas such as medical imaging, rehabilitation and wellness, disability, health promotion, chronic disease, pain management, wellbeing and high-performance sport.

Core Responsibilities  

Level A 

• Contribute to the development and delivery of courses (as appropriate) and work with the team in the development of program change and innovation including flexible and online delivery 
• Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new material 
• Supervise honours students 
• Facilitate the connections between research and teaching and vice versa 
• Undertake developmental activities to advance knowledge of effective discipline-specific pedagogical practices 

Level B

• Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods 
• Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and partner organisations to ensure that courses contain quality content which represents contemporary practice and theory 
• Supervise / co-supervise honours or postgraduate students  
• Facilitate the connections between research and teaching 
• Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research 

Essential Skills and Experience  

Level A

• A Bachelor degree in a relevant field, together with registration (or eligibility) as a Physiotherapist in Australia through AHPRA 
• Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources 
• Experience with a range of teaching technologies and administration  
• High standard of interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills 

Level B

• Formal qualifications in Physiotherapy together with registration and / or eligibility for registration as a Physiotherapist in Australia 
• A PhD in a related field of research to Physiotherapy 
• Clinical practice experience and leadership as a Physiotherapist 
• Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching duties including the design and preparation of teaching activities and resources 
• Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
