Introduce:
The School of Physics at Chongqing University traces its origins back to the School of Science established in 1929. Renowned physicists and educators such as Zheng Yanfen and Xie Lihui taught here for many years. In 1952, following national adjustments in academic departments, most physics faculty and students were relocated to Sichuan University. The physics program resumed undergraduate admissions in 1977, and the School of Physics was officially established in 2010. Today, the School boasts over 90 faculty members, including 3 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 national leading talents under the Ten Thousand Talents Program, 9 national-level young talents, 3 recipients of the Ministry of Education’s New Century Excellent Talents Award, and 16 provincial and ministerial-level talents. The physics discipline at the School ranks in the top 1% globally according to ESI and is a key discipline in Chongqing. It offers a first-level doctoral program and a postdoctoral research station in physics. The “Physics” program is recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program and part of the Ministry of Education’s physics excellence initiative.
The School follows a “dual-track, six-direction” academic framework, with both theoretical and experimental tracks. This framework encompasses three theoretical directions: particle physics, computational and theoretical condensed matter physics, and gravitational and astrophysics; and three experimental directions: quantum materials, soft condensed matter and quantum optics, and advanced materials. In recent years, the School’s physical sciences infrastructure has seen significant improvements. The university has invested over 60 million yuan to establish the Quantum Materials and Devices Research Center and 200 million yuan to build the Quantum Matter Science Research Platform. The School also houses several national and provincial research platforms, including the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Southwest Theoretical Physics Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Interfacial Physics for Energy Conversion, the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Microphysics for Strongly Coupled Systems, the Chongqing Quantum Physics Basic Discipline Research Center, and the Quantum Materials and Devices Research Center.

- Pre-tax annual salary of RMB 800,000, with additional performance-based rewards;

Hongshen Young Teacher
Application Requirements: Candidates should be doctoral graduates from other universities who possess an excellent academic background and achievements, have produced high-quality research outcomes, and demonstrate significant potential for innovative development.
Benefits:
- For the first 3 years, the pre-tax salary of RMB 250,000/year, with additional performance-based rewards. After passing the mid-term assessment, performance-based salary will be implemented according to the professional position standards.
- Relocation allowance of RMB 200,000;
- Research start-up funds of RMB 100,000 for science, engineering, and medical sciences, and RMB 50,000 for humanities and social sciences;
- During the appointment period, if the candidates are selected for the national postdoctoral innovative talent support plan, salary will be increased during the funding period.
- Hongshen Young Teachers can independently choose to enter the postdoctoral mobile station. If they enter the postdoctoral mobile station and stay in Chongqing for work after completing the postdoctoral period, an additional subsidy of RMB 150,000 will be provided by the Chongqing municipal government.
