Introduce:

Founded in 1946, the School of Medicine at Chongqing University merged with West China Union University (now Sichuan University’s West China Medical Center) during the national reorganization of universities in 1952. Since the 1970s, Chongqing University has leveraged its engineering strengths to develop disciplines in life and medical sciences, establishing Biomedical Engineering as a national first-class discipline. Clinical Medicine, Biology and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Plant and Animal Sciences, and Pharmacology and Toxicology rank in the top 1% of ESI disciplines.

In response to the “Double First-Class” initiative, the School of Medicine was re-established in June 2018. Over the past five years, the school has rapidly developed in terms of academic disciplines, research platforms, faculty, and affiliated hospital systems.
