The University of Southampton’s mission is to change the world for the better. As a world-leading, research-intensive university, with a strong and high-quality educational offering, it is renowned for its innovation and enterprise and sits within the top 1% of universities worldwide. The University consistently achieves a top 30 league table position for graduate career prospects and has a strategic ambition to be recognised as a leading university for employability.

The Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise function is an energetic and welcoming division of the University, with ambitious plans to grow. This is a very exciting time to join us as we seek to develop the Careers events programme that we offer to our students.

Careers fairs and events give students the opportunity to develop their employability skills, to network with employers, and to begin conversations about work experience and graduate positions. This role is at the heart of making these opportunities happen.

This is an exciting and diverse role within our Events Team. Working closely with the other Events Coordinator, you will be actively involved in the design, delivery and promotion of our Careers fairs and events.

About You

This post presents a fantastic opportunity for an efficient and motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

You will provide comprehensive, effective, and efficient planning and delivery of central University careers fairs and events. You will be expected to build successful working relationships with key partners both externally and within the university.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within teams are essential. You will be able to apply good judgement and take a creative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Time management, organisational skills, data analysis and a good working knowledge of Microsoft products are also requirements.

Candidates should be able to commit to occasional evening and weekend work as a requirement of the role.

What we can offer you

We are committed to supporting our staff and students, we are open to a flexible and hybrid working approach. We consider applicants that wish to work flexibly and those who have taken a career break.
