The successful candidates will show outstanding potential as scholars and will be enthusiastic and flexible in contributing to postgraduate teaching (and undergraduate as needed). We are looking for colleagues who are keen to participate fully in the intellectual and academic activities of a lively and committed department which prizes collegiality very highly. We invite applications from candidates with proven teaching skills and a PhD in Film Studies (or other related disciplines) at time of application, with knowledge and experience of film industry studies (in particular film policy, film distribution and exhibition) and theories related to film studies. Other expertise and interest in East Asian cinema, gender studies, digital screen cultures would be an advantage.
The posts are available to start September 2024. We expect interviews to be the second week of August.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to the Head of Film, Prof. Shelley Cobb (S.Cobb@soton.ac.uk).
