Applications are open to all areas of Strategy and would be particularly welcome in the areas of innovation & entrepreneurship, sustainability, or international strategy.

Melbourne Business School, affiliated with the University of Melbourne, is a leading graduate business school in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region. MBS offers MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Marketing, and Master of Business Analytics programs, as well as a suite of Executive Education offerings. The School’s full-time MBA program has consistently featured in the Financial Times rankings and was ranked 1st in Australia by The Economist in 2021. The School’s Master of Business Analytics program was ranked 15th globally and is ranked top in the Asia/Pacific region in the QS Business Masters Rankings: Business Analytics in 2021.

The position is in the Strategy cluster, which currently has seven full-time academic faculty. Members of the cluster have active research interests in corporate finance, entrepreneurship, innovation, networks and alliances, strategic decision making and sustainability. More information about the current research areas of the school can be found on the faculty and research page at https://mbs.edu/faculty-and-research.

The position is located at the school’s main building, which is part of the University of Melbourne’s Carlton campus in inner Melbourne. Flexible working arrangements are available to all staff. The occupant will have an employment contract with Melbourne Business School Limited, and an internationally competitive package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Employee benefits include a subsidised School gym; health and wellbeing programs; year-round social events; NFP salary packaging; and access to world class learning and development programs.

Applications should be submitted via the MBS careers site and should include the following items: full CV, a list of publications, a summary of recent teaching, including teaching evaluations, and contact information for three referees. Closing date for applications is August 31st 2024.

The Melbourne Business School is committed to all aspects of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and to providing all staff, students, contractors and visitors with a safe, respectful and rewarding environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination, harassment, bullying, vilification and victimisation. Key Responsibilities

They will be expected to teach into the school’s post-experience MBA degrees and—either immediately or in the future—to help develop and teach content to audiences in the school’s executive education program (short courses and custom solutions).

The school stresses quality rather than quantity of research. Therefore, preference is for faculty to publish in internationally recognised top tier journals. MBS has low administration expectations from its junior faculty.
