Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 (PERITIA) within UCD School of Philosophy. 24 Months

This vacancy arises from the international research project PERITIA Network of Research on Trust and Expertise, a follow up to the recently completed Horizon 2020 project PERITIA. The aim of the project is to continue to provide better theoretical and empirical understanding of the question of trust, particularly in a time of poly-crises. The project is coordinated by Professor Maria Baghramian at UCD School of Philosophy.
The project is looking for a social or political epistemologist to:
- Conduct research on one or more topics of: social and institutional trust in a time of poly-crises, disinformation and conspiracy theories, democracy and its discontents.
- To publish and co-publish articles and journal special issues on the relevant topics of research
- To apply for funding in collaboration with other members of the PERITIA research network.
- To assist in organising international conferences and workshops relevant to the research project.
This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
Salary Range: €44,347 - € 44,941 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The PD1 position is intended for early stage researchers, either just after completion of a PhD or for someone entering a new area for the first time.
