Introduce:
The School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering at Chongqing University has its origins in the Department of Telecommunications established in 1935 under the School of Engineering. Professor Feng Jian, the Dean of the School of Engineering and a renowned radio expert, was one of the pioneers of radio science at Chongqing University. The school once had the national key disciplines of “Carrier Measurement and Control and Remote Sensing Information Transmission” under the 211 Project and the national key construction platform of “Flight Vehicle Measurement and Control and Communication” under the 985 Project. Currently, the school has 121 faculty members, including 8 national high-level talents such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and national-level expert teaching fellows of the Ten Thousand Talents Program. With the rapid development of the new generation electronic information industry, the school has actively integrated into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle and has condensed and formed four major disciplinary directions: 1) “Aerospace Network Intelligence Connection”, focusing on national aerospace technology demands, and dedicating to research in areas such as low-orbit satellite internet, integrated information networks for aerospace, land, sea, and air, and intelligent networking. 2) “Intelligent Chip Design and Application”, supporting Chongqing’s trillion-level intelligent electronic information industry, with a focus on the design and application of AD/DA chips, sensing chips, neuromorphic chips, and communication-integrated chips. 3) “Specialized Communication and Networking”, continuously delving into fields such as flight vehicle measurement and control, smart grid, and emergency communication networks. 4) “Intelligent Perception and Information Fusion Processing”, closely aligning with industry demands and achieving key technological breakthroughs in radar information processing, biological information processing, and video image processing with leading enterprises. Corresponding to the four major disciplinary directions, the school has established four research platforms: the “Aerospace Network Intelligence Connection and Information Fusion” Chongqing Key Laboratory, the “Biological Sensing and Multimodal Intelligent Information Processing” Chongqing Key Laboratory, the “Specialized Communication and Networking” Chongqing Engineering Technology Research Center, and the “High-performance Integrated Circuit” Chongqing Engineering Research Center. It has six research teams in flight vehicle measurement and control, aerospace network intelligence connection, biological sensing and information processing, antennas and radio frequency circuits, radar information processing, and sensing chips. It has maintained research cooperation with research institutes such as China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, as well as leading enterprises such as China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd, Huawei, and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, and has jointly established multiple research platforms and talent training bases. The school boasts strong research strength, having won 6 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and Technological Invention Awards as the first prize-winning unit, and over 20 provincial and ministerial awards. It has distinctive features and outstanding achievements in educational and teaching reform, winning 2 National Teaching Achievement Awards, 1 first prize, and 4 second prizes of Chongqing Municipal Teaching Achievement Awards. It has three national first-class undergraduate major construction points in Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, and Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated Systems. After years of development and construction, the school has become an important scientific research and talent training base in the field of electronic information and communication. With a strong faculty, outstanding teaching and research achievements, and first-class teaching conditions, it welcomes aspiring young talents from home and abroad to join hands with the School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering at Chongqing University for mutual development.
