Introduce:
The School of Management Science and Real Estate at Chongqing University traces its origins back to the Department of Architectural Management Engineering at Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering, established in February 1981. It stands as one of China’s pioneering departments offering programs in engineering management. Renamed as the School of Management Engineering of Chongqing Jianzhu University in 1994, it underwent further transformation in May 2000 upon the merger of Chongqing Jianzhu University, Chongqing Architecture College, and the original Chongqing University, becoming the School of Construction Management and Real Estate of Chongqing University. In 2019, the school independently undertook the responsibility of constructing the first-level discipline of Management Science and Engineering, leading to its current designation as the School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University. With a focus on its distinctive features, the school has expanded its horizons significantly. Offering undergraduate programs in Engineering Management, Financial Management, Engineering Cost, Real Estate Development and Management, and Intelligent Construction, the Engineering Management program has consistently excelled in national “Engineering Management Professional Education Assessments” since 1999, earning approval from the Ministry of Education as a national-level characteristic specialty and designation as a comprehensive reform pilot specialty in Chongqing’s higher education landscape. The school boasts a national (undergraduate) teaching team, a municipal (undergraduate) teaching team, a Chongqing municipal expert teaching fellow, two Chongqing municipal innovation experimental areas for higher education talent training, and two Chongqing municipal “Three Special Actions Plan” characteristic specialties. Its talent cultivation system holds recognition from the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in the UK and the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), making it among the earliest undergraduate majors at Chongqing University to receive international accreditation. All four undergraduate programs are accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in the UK. Since 1984, the school has offered graduate programs, including doctoral degree authorization points in the first-level discipline of Management Science and Engineering and postdoctoral mobile stations in Management Science and Engineering. It also has master’s degree authorization points in the first-level discipline of Management Science and Engineering, as well as in Engineering Financial Management and Engineering Management as secondary disciplines. It is authorized to offer professional master’s degrees in Engineering Management. Graduate education encompasses fields such as Engineering and Project Management, Urban and Real Estate, Energy Resource Optimization and Management, Modern Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Management and Intelligent Construction, and Management Science and Systems Engineering. A comprehensive graduate education system has been established, comprising doctoral, academic master’s, full-time professional master’s, and part-time professional master’s (MEM) programs. The School of Management Science and Real Estate of Chongqing University comprises four teaching departments: Engineering Management, Financial Management, Engineering Cost, and Real Estate Development and Management. It currently employs 94 faculty members, including 81 full-time teachers. Among them are 19 professors and 38 associate professors, with 15 doctoral supervisors and 76 master’s supervisors. The school houses research institutions such as the Chongqing University Center for Construction Economy and Management (provincial level), the Chongqing University Institute of Urban and Rural Construction and Development (provincial level, think tank), and the Chongqing University International Research Center for Sustainable Construction. Research activities span six areas: Engineering and Project Management, Urban and Real Estate, Energy Resource Optimization and Management, Modern Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Management and Intelligent Construction, and Management Science and Systems Engineering. In recent years, the school has undertaken over 30 national-level major, key, and general projects, along with hundreds of provincial and ministerial-level and enterprise cooperation research projects. It has contributed significantly to major engineering project technical research and engineering consulting services, provided advisory services to governments at all levels, and participated in the formulation of numerous “Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” documents. The school has been selected as a support discipline for the Ministry of Education’s “Double First-Class” initiative and as a key discipline in Chongqing Municipality. Faculty members have published over 600 articles, including more than 300 SSCI/SCI indexed papers, with 24 highly cited papers, and two professors selected as top 2% scientists globally. They have also published more than 20 monographs and compiled over 40 textbooks, exerting broad academic and social influence. With a commitment to knowledge and action, the School of Management Science and Real Estate warmly invites outstanding scholars from around the world to join. The university and the school pledge to provide a first-class scientific research platform, a vibrant research atmosphere, competitive compensation, and promising career development prospects. We welcome your participation and look forward to shaping the future together with you!
