Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or PD2 within UCD School of agriculture and Food Science.

I am seeking a Post doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 OR PD2 to operate within the framework of the service contract with the European Commission Supporting the recovery of bird species of Annex II of the Birds Directive in non secure conservation status. This technical assistance is led by The Research Group in Game Resources and Wildlife Management of the Instituto de Investigacion en Recursos Cinegeticos iREC CSIC, UCLM, JCCM in Spain, in conjunction with UCD and other consortium partners, Office Fran aisde la Biodiversite FR, Czech University of Life Sciences CZ and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds UK. The project will address the study of 42 species from Annex II of the Birds Directive that are in decline, or their population stability is not considered secure enough. This role is required to provide an overview of the actions to be taken on fully resident huntable species nine in total under Annex II of the Birds Directive.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

PD1 Salary: €44,347 - € 50,805 per annum

PD2 Salary: €52,193

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines

The PD2 post is intended for researchers that have completed PD1. As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
