Job Description:  

Applications are invited for the Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the DST-SERB Funded Project (CRG/2023/005934) in the Department of Physics, School of Advance Sciences (SAS), at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore (dated 03-06-2024)

Title of the Project:

Development of an efficient Molecular Dynamics (MD) model framework for capturing bubble incipience and growth rate in nucleate pool boiling”

Qualification (Essential):

M. Sc. (2 years) / Integrated M.Sc. (5 years) degree in Physics, or Material sciences or in a related science field. B. Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields.

Desirable:

  • i) The project aims to develop a molecular dynamics simulation framework for obtaining a microscopic understanding of pool boiling heat transfer. Specifically, it focuses on predicting the bubble incipience times, growth rate, and departure size.
  • ii) Basic knowledge in programming (C, C++, python, etc.) is Preferable.
  • iii) Hands-on experience with MD, or CFD simulations is preferable.

Stipend:

Rs. 37,000/- per month fellowship +8% HRA, will be given as per Institute norms
