About the role:

Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation and Enterprise Officer (CIEO), the Director of Portal plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the university and external stakeholders, driving innovation, implementing strategies and enhancing partnerships that contribute to the university's growth and impact. This role focuses on engaging with industries, entrepreneurs, governmental bodies, and the wider community to identify opportunities for collaboration, co-creation, and knowledge exchange.

As Director of Portal you will:

  • Engage with senior leadership team at the university to develop strategic goals 
  • Evaluate how effectively innovation initiatives align with the university's strategic goals and missions 
  • Collaborate to develop and implement university wide partnerships and develop an impact management framework
  • Quantify the number of new partnerships established with industry, startups, governmental bodies, and other organizations
  • Manage and direct team of wide specialist areas and further develop the capability of the Portal team by providing leadership 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A university degree in a relevant subject (An MBA or Post-graduate degree would be an advantage)
  • At least 10 years of experience in a senior position that has relevance to the role
  • The ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and drive initiatives to fruition
  • A track record of successful project management and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven experience in fostering partnerships, business development, or innovation management, preferably in an academic or research environment

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 1 salary scale (€137,307-€173,571) per annum) in line with current Government pay policy
