UCD IT Services provides all central IT applications, support and infrastructure for staff, researchers and students throughout the University. Applications are invited for the contract position of IT Project Manager within UCD IT Services.

The Project Manager in the Research IT Services team will be responsible for establishment of and the ongoing delivery of a new Research Data Management (RDM) service within Research IT. This person will play a key role in implementing and developing the IT Strategy for this and related areas. The role will include managing technology projects, evaluating, developing and implementing new technology, software solutions and training initiatives within the University. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with the design and management of Research IT services and the daily operational facets of the UCD IT Systems. A key role for the successful candidate is the ability to effectively communicate complex, technical issues to a wide and varied audience and interact with senior leadership within the University as required. The individual will represent IT Services on UCD and National Research Data initiatives.

The position requires a broad range of customer, service development, technical and project management skills, and is suitable for someone with keen to develop skills in Research Data Management.

Reporting to the CIO or their nominee, the postholder will be responsible for a substantial programme of work, comprising multiple major projects and technical development initiatives.

In addition to the current vacancy, a panel may be put in place. Should a suitable vacancy at this grade arise in the future, UCD IT Services may contact candidates on this panel to ascertain their on-going interest and availability.

95 Admin Officer I\2010 (0172\X) Salary Scale: €50,759 - €68,709 Per Annum
