A great opportunity for an International Recruitment Regional Manager to join the University of Surrey’s Student Recruitment team, leading on the China and East Asia Region.

You’ll play a vital role in leading key strategic initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, driving our Student Recruitment and Marketing strategies across China and East Asia.

The role

This role will focus on recruiting high-quality overseas undergraduate and postgraduate students to the University. You’ll need to establish good relationships with relevant stakeholders such as agents, sponsors, and school counsellors and use a variety of recruitment methods to work with colleagues to effectively promote the University to potential students. 

You’ll be expected to:

  • Deputise for the Director of International Student Recruitment at senior internal meetings and committees and in meetings with external stakeholders, supporting in the development and implementation of the international recruitment and marketing strategic plan.
  • Co-ordinate, develop and execute East Asia and China regional recruitment plans aimed at achieving year-on-year growth for the University.
  • Align closely with the institution's overarching ambitions, staying updated on recruitment trends within the East Asia region to provide informed advice to senior colleagues regarding trends and opportunities for student recruitment.
  • Provide high-performance leadership, management, advice, and guidance to maximize the effectiveness of the International Student Recruitment and Marketing Team in East Asia. 

You’ll need experience working in higher education in an international recruitment role, and will have experience of dealing with overseas recruitment, and possess a broad awareness of the international recruitment sector, both commercially and culturally. 

You’ll be confident in delivering presentations, complex projects and running events and will be able to demonstrate good IT skills.

International travel will be expected, so we require all applicants to hold a valid passport and be willing to travel.
