Maynooth University (MU) is committed to a strategy of delivering excellent research, scholarship and outstanding education for impact regionally, nationally and internationally.

MaynoothWorks is the MU office for Knowledge Transfer, Enterprise Partnership and Entrepreneurship Innovation, under the office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation (VPRI) and works in close collaboration with the Research Development Office (RDO).

VPRI and the Director of MaynoothWorks drive the implementation of the MU strategic plan. The successful candidates will join the MaynoothWorks team to work closely with the Director and the Innovation/Commercialisation leads to manage a pipeline of research commercialisation with measurable impacts.

In 2023 MU launched a new Strategic Plan which aims to: “attain a critical volume of research excellence in areas of national and international significance through our research beacons:

  • Data and Digital Transformation
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Heritage, Culture and Language
  • Society and Public Policy
  • Sustainability and Climate Change

Each Commercialisation Development Officer (x3) will be assigned to one of the following beacons, depending on background and qualifications: Data and Digital Transformation, Health and Wellbeing, or Sustainability and Climate Change. All Commercialisation Development Officers will be expected to contribute to the Society and Public Policy beacon and assist in discovering opportunities for the Heritage, Culture and Language beacon.

Extensive training will be provided and selected candidates will be actively encouraged to progress towards becoming a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP).

These are full-time roles located in the MaynoothWorks office on the Maynooth University campus.

MaynoothWorks is supported under the KT Boost Programme co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.


Administrative Officer I (2024): €56,351 p.a.(1 point, with increments where applicable)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
