Student Systems Team – Student Administration & Academic Affairs

An opportunity has arisen to join the University’s Student Systems Team on a 12 month fixed term contract, working with colleagues across the institution to shape the future of the University’s Banner Student Record System.

As an experienced training manager, you will have the skills and expertise to lead on training design and delivery for Banner workstreams as we embark on a programme of modernisation and development. In this role you will be part of our Banner programme team, working with a range of technical specialists and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption.

What you’ll do:

  • Apply your specialist expertise to develop and deliver a training strategy for the Banner student record system.
  • Build a detailed understanding of the training needs of our user community and recommend the most appropriate methods for delivering effective systems training to them.
  • Working as part of the Student Systems Team, you’ll report to the Head of Business Change and Project Support.

What you’ll bring:

  • Ability to build a detailed training approach which aligns with programme milestones, deliverables and outcomes, effectively building users’ competence and confidence in the use of systems.
  • Experience of analysing situations and problems, an ability to work systematically to resolve problems, identify causes, anticipate implications and make informed decisions on courses of actions.
  • An understanding of training tools, methodologies, and models.

Working at UoS

Our Strategic Plan – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) builds on the ambition articulated in the University Strategy: “It matters that we act continually to ensure the University is supportive and inclusive of everyone”.

Our EDI mission is to create an inclusive university community, and our vision is that this is a community where as an individual student or member of staff:

  • You feel welcomed for who you are, and this is a place where you feel that you can influence the way we do things now and in the future.
  • You feel included and supported to reach your true potential.
  • You value the diversity of the wider community and play your part in supporting the mission of inclusivity.

By joining the University of Southampton, you will enjoy a number of benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, a dependable pension scheme, staff discounts across a wealth of purchases, interests and activities and membership opportunities for gym and sports facilities. There is also a great range of professional development training and resources to support your career ambitions.
