About you 

We are aiming to appoint a motivated scientist with relevant skills for the project, able to lead a project individually and as part of a team. This is a multi-disciplinary project involving macrophage immunology, oncology and advanced molecular biology, therefore candidates with a PhD in these fields are welcome, providing a record of achievement and enthusiasm in research can be demonstrated. 

The role

The project, in collaboration with a pharma company, will be carried out in a well-established research group in the University of Surrey and directed by Dr Fernando Martinez Estrada, a researcher with 20 years’ experience in Macrophage Biology trained at the University of Milan in Italy, and University of Oxford in UK. Candidates are expected to be proactive, excel in organisational and time- management skills, and have excellent inter-personal communication skills.

Please note, it is University Policy to offer a starting salary equivalent to Level 3.6 (£34,980) to successful applicants who have been awarded, but are yet to receive, their PhD certificate.  Once the original PhD certificate has been submitted to the local HR Department, the salary will be increased to Level 4.1 (£36,024).
