The School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences in the College of Sciences, Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University, is seeking applicants to apply for the position of Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor in Food Technology.

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the delivery and development of Massey University's Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours qualification at Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, with a particular focus on the delivery and development of food process engineering and statistical modeling courses and to support other food technology courses.

In accordance with these expectations, you will be employed by Massey University and based in Palmerston North, New Zealand, with an annual requirement to teach at Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, for the equivalent time of approximately one semester.

Typically, the academic year will require you to execute courses at Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China for the first half of the year and then, from approximately July, the practical components are executed at our Manawatū campus, Palmerston North New Zealand.

Applicants must possess:

A relevant PhD (or equivalent) or another post-graduate qualification combined with significant relevant employment experience A strong knowledge in Food Technology and be able to demonstrate teaching and research experience in a University or other tertiary environment, and have experience in the use of electronic and on-line technologies in a blended and distance teaching delivery Experience working with the food industry would be an advantage Visa eligibility to work in both China and New Zealand The salary range for this role is at a Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor Grade (for 2024), ranging from $101,724 to $157,025 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/ experience.
