Boston University’s College of Communication (COM) invites applications for a non-tenured Professor of the Practice of Advertising, Account Management. This position serves our outstanding program in advertising, focusing on student interest in account management and advertising strategy. A successful candidate will have an MS/MA in Communication, a related area, or an MBA, with significant professional experience in the advertising industry in a senior position in account management. Candidates with the ability to teach advertising in both traditional and new media settings are desired. Duties will include teaching courses in account management, advertising and brand strategy, and in other areas of COM’s curriculum as suited to the candidate’s profile. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor both undergraduate and graduate students and to establish and maintain networks with the advertising industry. This is a position for an industry leader of national repute, with the ability and drive to help today’s students be successful in a changing industry.
Established in 1947, the College of Communication (COM) at Boston University is a large college with a department specializing in Journalism, as well as a department of Film & Television and a department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations. COM’s student population exceeds 2,000 annually, including undergraduates, graduate and PhD’s. The College integrates a strong liberal arts core with a heavy focus on preparing students for careers as communication professionals.
