The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.

We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.

Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

The role

An exciting opportunity for a full time Administrative Assistant to provide maternity cover (fulltime, fixed term contract), in the innovative Computer Science Research Centre at the University of Surrey.

With the buzz of student life and superb working facilities, geared around helping people get the best of both home and collaborative onsite working.

You will be part of a pro-active, motivated and highly organised team providing administrative support to staff and students in the Centre which is part of the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

You will require excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage changing demands in a busy, front-facing office.  Alongside providing pro-active support to our postgraduate students and academic staff, you will act as the first point of contact for enquiries to the Centre, dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You should have previous administration experience, alongside good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide strong administrative support with accuracy and a keen eye for detail.  Experience of using Microsoft Office is essential.  Ideally you should also have some knowledge and understanding of systems such as Agresso (finance) and SITS (student administration), and web-page management, although training and support will be provided.

How to apply

Please apply on the University website and submit your CV with your application. Informal enquiries are welcome and may be made to Denise Myers (Department Administrator) d.myers@surrey.ac.uk
