We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:
Scientific Officer (at the rank of Lecturer) (S&T) (Ref: 24000OL)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Carrying out research projects, publishing research findings and writing research proposals;
- Coordinating research and scholarly activities, and providing technical support to academic staff and students on their research;
- Contributing to the School / laboratory administration;
- Organizing and conducting classroom, laboratory and field-based teaching; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School of Science and Technology or his / her nominee(s).
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
A higher degree, preferably a doctoral degree in Environmental Science or a relevant discipline; A strong record of research and peer-reviewed publications is an advantage; Experience in microalgae / coastal wetlands / aquaculture research is highly preferred; Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and interpersonal skills; Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently under pressure; and A good command of English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
