UCD IT Services is responsible for the design, development, implementation, management, security and support of a wide range of IT solutions and services to support staff, students and researchers in their work for the University.

The expansion of UCD's IT security architecture includes establishing a new IT Security Operations Centre (SOC) to deliver and support SOC services associated with the prevention, detection and response to cybersecurity threats and incidents, under the direction of UCD's IT Security Manager. The SOC will comprise IT Security Lead subject matter experts from across the Verticals in IT Services - Enterprise Applications Group, Infrastructure Group, Customer & Academic Services Group and the Programme and Risk Management Group.

IT Services is seeking to fill the role of IT Security Lead in the Enterprise Applications Group (EAG). The appointee will be an integral member of EAG responsible for the security of all supported enterprise applications in UCD, with a dotted line of responsibility to the IT Security Manager who will be managing UCD's IT Security Centre. The appointee will be a member of the SOC, acting as subject matter expert for their area and will manage the resolution of security incidents and events relating to EAG systems and services, engaging within their teams, with the other Security Leads in IT Services, with industry experts and with suppliers to respond to IT security-related issues. The appointee will play a leading role in IT security management processes, ensuring that University systems and information are protected against unauthorised access, breaches, and other security related risks.
