Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Library and Information Sciences in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 525894), to commence on August 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Library and Information Sciences or a closely related field, a relevant professional qualification, and at least 5 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at tertiary level.  Teaching experience in information retrieval, information resources and services, and/or library and information management, and an understanding of library and information sciences as they relate to education and knowledge of the local context would be strong advantages.  Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels related to library and information management.  He/She will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students, conduct internship supervision, and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
