About the Role

This position is responsible for undertaking research activities associated with the project Help After Leaving hospital (HALT) Trial: a co-produced multidisciplinary and tailored intervention to prevent decline after in-hospital delirium, funded by The Hospital Research Foundation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead ethics and clinical governance approval processes related to the project
  • Lead the logistical elements of the project including participant recruitment and scheduling and along with communication between investigators
  • Liaise with academics, researchers, and other research participants including organising and attending meetings
  • Coordinate the development of new intervention materials
  • Undertake evidence synthesis across established delirium and dementia prevention approaches
  • Collect psychological, functional and mood data from older adults; and run co-production focus groups with consumers and clinicians, transcribe and analyse qualitative data

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Honours, Masters or PhD) in psychology or allied health and relevant experience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences in the context of running a research project including, but not limited to, research participants, clinical scientists and consumer advocates
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills together with resourcefulness and initiative to manage multiple priorities and demands in the context of research
  • High level of interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment including with consumer advisory groups and project investigator teams
  • Expertise in, or enthusiasm to learn, qualitative analytical approaches
  • Highly developed research and report writing skills, including ethics reporting and manuscript submission to peer reviewed journals
