Research Fellow (Coastal Breaking Waves)

Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the National University of Singapore is actively seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a groundbreaking research project.

The Research Fellow (Postdoc) will join the project of POSEIDON: Predicting coastal breaking waves with advanced data-driven turbulence modelling. She/he will be working together with Asst. Prof. Li Yuzhu Pearl on simulating breaking waves with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach. Experiments will also be performed to create data-base for breaking wave turbulence.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a PhD degree with relevant research experience.
  • Candidates with background in coastal and ocean engineering, especially with experience or knowledge in CFD modelling, breaking waves, and OpenFOAM are encouraged to apply. Some knowledge in machine learning and experiments is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications.
  • Strong quantitative and writing skills are required.
  • A good publication record is advantageous.
  • Open to fixed-term project.
