    Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) you will serve as a key member of the Vice-Chancellor’s extended leadership team. In this dynamic position, you will lead the strategic, academic, educational, research, and engagement leadership of the School. Your responsibilities include overseeing planning, continuous improvement, and the delivery of innovative teaching programs. As a crucial member of the leadership team, you will collaborate with other School Deans, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), and University Directors to implement strategic priorities. Managing and supporting School staff, you will provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities. Moreover, as a visionary leader, you will drive financial management, academic development, and the creation of a sustainable and scalable School. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of education, fostering academic excellence, financial viability, and impactful community engagement.     You will provide:

    • Strategic Leadership: Lead high-quality teaching and research, establish school structures, and drive strategic planning aligned with university goals.
    • Business Development and Engagement: Enhance academic and industry engagement, creating opportunities for new teaching programs and commercial ventures.
    • People Management: Provide leadership and support, overseeing workforce planning and staffing to meet educational and research needs.
    • Financial Management: Ensure financial sustainability through operational planning, managing budgets, and mitigating financial risks.
    • University Policy: Embed University principles, adhere to conduct and safety policies, and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.

Their strategic mindset, paired with analytical and problem-solving skills, will play a pivotal role in navigating the intricate landscape at UniSC. Additionally, a profound understanding of diverse student needs, coupled with empathy and adaptability, is essential for success in this leadership role.

    Key Selection Criteria:

    1. A doctoral or equivalent qualification, showcasing international recognition as a leader in a relevant discipline through a distinguished record in teaching, learning, research, and leadership.
    2. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, specifically the ability to initiate and lead transformative changes, fostering collaboration across disciplines, schools, and campuses.
    3. Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage strategic, financial, and operational plans, demonstrating adeptness in cost control, revenue enhancement, risk mitigation, and providing expert guidance in budgetary planning and control.
    4. Capacity to build and sustain a high-performance school, showcasing leadership in the development of teaching, research, and engagement. Proven ability to lead, manage, and support staff to achieve both strategic and operational objectives.
    5. Demonstrated ability to  build on the School’s recent success in achieving AACSB accreditation to grow the School regionally, nationally, and internationally. Capable of promoting and enhancing the School and University's profile and reputation, including the development and expansion of commercial, industry engagement, and international partnerships.
