Position Overview

KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on the development of conducting research on water desalination using membrane distillation (MD) modules experimentally and computationally. The candidate also needs to work on existing potential technologies like RO and provide high quality research support and undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University. In addition, candidate must be able to present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication. The core part of the position is to work with Ph.D. and MSc. students and a researcher having core industrial and modeling expertise.

As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the center of membrane and water technology (CMAT) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.

Position Requirements

• Work on publications outlines and opportunity to public in Q1 journals.
• Follow up with the progress in the thermal desalination research, especially MD.  
• Helps PhD and Master students in developing system modeling
• Help students in developing and maintaining system apparatuses for experimental studies.
• Develop CFD models for membrane distillation systems with phase change and fouling.
• Construct test apparatus and perform experimental analysis for MD systems.
• Write progress reports and collaborate in writing papers for publications.
• Having demonstrated autonomy and teamwork skills.
• Excellent technical written English and oral communication skills.
• Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manage
