Role Description

About the Role

This role will shape our Centre’s research, focusing on optimising hybrid materials for next-gen aircraft landing gears. Addressing gaps in technology, it involves critical evaluation, designing joining techniques, topological optimisation for mass reduction, and assessing manufacturing impacts. The research concludes with evaluating optimised landing gear through project reviews, workshops, conferences, and academic publications, influencing the future of landing gear technology.

This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering research in areas such as material characterisation and failure analysis, advanced FEA simulation for topological optimisation, design, analysis, and testing of lightweight materials and structures, as well as multiscale modelling of hybrid materials and structures.
