About Us

University of Southampton has been awarded funding to develop and host a Public Health National Specialist Centre (PHNSC). The PHNSC will provide research advice nationally for PH research projects seeking funding within specific areas and including development of award applications, advice on setting up studies, collaboration opportunities and support for PPIE and a PH Enabling Research Service’ (PHERcS), producing guidance, toolkits, governance and ethics  and PH research delivery in non-NHS settings to equip local authorities to host/sponsor their own research and understand the responsibilities and risks. Regionally, the service will also be available for researchers for training, events and support to increase capability in PH research and for local authority partners creating learning partnerships to understand and respond to PH research needs and increase PH research capacity.

About the Role

The Senior Contracts Manager will support this initial set up stage of the PHNSC to lead on all aspects of commercial and contracts management and delivery set up to prepare for service continuity of contracts.  This role will support the development of a newly funded Public Health Research Support Service (RSS) as new business working with the Head of Enterprise & Partnerships and covering the associated breadth of contract work to set up the relevant process, procedures and document toolkits that are required. 

You will have significant knowledge and experience of designing and implementing the contracts for new project initiatives, ideally in the public health sector. You will also be an excellent communicator and able to build relationships both internally and externally

This post is offered on a 0/5 FTE fixed term (18 months) basis in the School of Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation.   As a school we operate hybrid working with an expected minimum of 20% in office.
