We are seeking a Research Fellow, the successful candidate will report to Principal Investigator (PI) Professor Gerry Lacey. They will work alongside PhD Students and will be expected to contribute to technology development, publishing in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conferences and should demonstrate a commitment to protecting intellectual property with a view to it being deployed in a start-up company or via licence to an AgTech firm. As a researcher, you will work collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from Agronomy, Biology, Robotics based in Ireland and the USA.
You will coordinate the work of junior staff on the project (3 PhD students) and provide reports and presentations to project funders as required. You will also be responsible for mentoring thesis students, as well as undertaking professional development activities to advance your own training and career prospects in consultation with the PI.
Some occasional travel will also be required to present papers at conferences, visit collaborating organizations and attend team meetings.
Salary
Senior Research Fellow (2023): €73,589 p.a. (1 point - with increment)
Research Fellow (2023): €61,318 p.a. – €66,815 p.a. (4 points )
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
