The School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Greenwich is seeking to appoint a part-time fixed term Lecturer in Sociology for a period of 6 months. The School is based at the historic world heritage site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and has a strong interdisciplinary ethos. The School prides itself on the support provided to students throughout their studies, enhancing their knowledge, skill set, confidence and employability.

The candidate must have expertise in the field of Sociology of Work as well as being able to teach across a variety of topics in the Sociology programme. You will join the Sociology programme team, working to develop our external and international profile. The successful candidate will module lead and teach the second-year module ‘Sociology of Work’ on our BA Sociology and combinations programmes, as well as contributing teaching to team-taught modules including seminars and marking and moderation of a range of assessments on our programme. 

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic individual who is committed to excellence in teaching and student support. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and experience of successfully delivering high-quality teaching. We are also interested in hearing from candidates who can contribute to our student employability activities.
