In this role, you will have a multifaceted approach to your contributions. Through your research, you will contribute to evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

You will:

  • undertake teaching, course coordination and student supervision in undergraduate biomedical science programs across both the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay campuses;
  • make significant contributions to teaching and research areas within the discipline of biomedical science;
  • design, develop, evaluate and improve curricula and teaching;
  • make use of appropriate technologies and media to support and enhance learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation; and
  • engage students in learning in a variety of modes including: face-to-face (lecturing, tutoring, conducting workshops, simulations and in laboratories) and learning supported by online tools that enhance knowledge construction, collaboration, communication and engagement.

Your expertise will serve as a source of inspiration, pushing learners to surpass their limits to achieve academic and professional excellence. You possess strong subject matter expertise, pedagogical expertise, excellent communication skills, a passion for teaching and learning, a student-centred approach and a commitment to innovative and engaging teaching methods.

To be successful you will possess:

  • Doctoral qualification: Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Expertise in teaching: evidenced by student feedback on teaching using valid instrument/s, peer review and/or student outcomes, and the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching.
  • Research effectiveness: including refereed publications; participation in research teams; co-supervision of candidates for honours and higher degrees by research.
