Are you passionate about Academic citizenship?

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop the full potential of early and mid-career researchers?

If you are, we’d love to hear from you.

The opportunity

The School of Business is seeking an experienced Professor in a Business and Management discipline to head up Early and Mid-Career (ECR and MCR) professional development in Research and Knowledge Exchange within the School and across the University.

Under the leadership of a new Dean this newly created post will be responsible for coordinating and delivering on the central support available to advance Academic careers in Research and Knowledge Exchange in support of the University strategy and the School’s ambitious Research and Knowledge Exchange targets. Such schemes will include mentorship programmes, support for bid writing, grant application and commercial development of income for Research and Knowledge Exchange in order for colleagues to reach their full potential.

Based in the School of Business, you will work closely with colleagues in the Research and Enterprise Service to facilitate connections with researchers and knowledge exchange professionals to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and expand the ECR and MCRs network, particularly through the newly established Research and Knowledge Exchange Institutes.

We will support you to continue your own Research and Knowledge Exchange activity to ensure that you can pursue your personal research aspirations.

The School of Business has great potential. We returned to two Units of Assessment (17 and 24) in REF2021 and both saw improvements. We have strong links with regional and national businesses, and 100% of our Impact was graded 3-4* (UoA17). Our Centre for SME and Enterprise Development and Institute for Research into Work, Organisations and Employment (iROWE) undertake RKE that influences business improvement and policy, informs teaching and promotes positive change in the communities we serve. The School also has a new RKE Institute, for which we are in the process of recruiting for a Lead.
