About the team
The role of Finance is to support the appropriate stewardship of the University’s finance through the provision of a strategic financial advice, establishment of a financial management framework, financial management tools, procurement, management of the University’s Investment and Endowment portfolio, as well as financial oversight and accountability for finance and human resources administrative and transactional operations.
The Student Accommodation and Community Division provides co-aligned and extracurricular services for enrolled students, staff and community stakeholders. The Division manages a significant asset portfolio for the University, including all sporting facilities and infrastructure, as well as a series of student accommodation buildings and facilities. Co-aligned support services include the residential onsite student accommodation services of University Hall, UWA Medical Centre, UWA Child Care Services, UWA Sport, and the commercial operations team (encompassing short stay accommodation and events). The area works closely with the Student Guild and the Division of Student Life.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager (Student Accommodation and Community), you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, analysis and reporting of key financial data for the Student Accommodation and Community portfolio. In addition, you will provide high-level advice on financial management activities and support the month end processes, annual budgets, financial reporting and analysis.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, full professional membership of a recognised Australian accounting body and extensive experience in financial management and sound knowledge of financial legislation and accounting best practice standards, including exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards.
