The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Chinese Education and /or History Education.

The Faculty of Education offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programmes in various areas of education. Details about the Faculty of Education are available at https://www.um.edu.mo/fed/. Qualifications

Applicants should have (a) a doctoral degree in Education with focus on the field/s of Chinese Education and /or History Education; (b) Applicants for Full/Associate Professor should have global reputation for excellence in research on Chinese Education and /or History Education (e.g., SSCI, SCI, A&HCI, and CSSCI indexed journal publications), with the ability to take a leading role in developing and enhancing research and teaching in Chinese teachers’ education programme at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; quality teaching experience at the world-renowned university is also required; (c) Good knowledge of education systems of Macau and its neighbouring regions will be a plus for all the above-mentioned positions. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor or Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the applicant, such as with national or international collaborative research profile in Chinese Education and /or History Education and strong connection with scholars and practitioners in the field.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2024.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approximately USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approximately USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
