Job purpose 

  • To lead in the development and implementation of education and training initiatives relating to outbreak preparedness and response using adult learning framework

Duties and responsibilities

  • Working closely with key stakeholders in the centre and in some endeavours with WHO
  • Develop curriculum for post graduate masters and diploma courses
  • Develop new scenario training for outbreak response
  • Assist in the development of technical and leadership trainings as proposed
  • Work with stakeholders to assist in translation to other key languages and to recruit appropriate faculty
  • Work with stakeholders in appropriate advocacy and promotion
  • Other educational initiatives that arise
  • Teamwork, flexibility, adaptability, problem solving, good communicator, work independently with initiative

Education and experience qualifications

  • An academic appointment will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s previous achievements.
  • A primary or post grad degree in education.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience ideally in international and public health related activities
