Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) is now seeking outstanding scientists for the academic posts from Assistant Professor to Chair Professor with administrative titles of Assistant Director, Deputy Director and Director, to promote a high standard of teaching and cross-disciplinary research in the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (M.U.S.T).

Founded in 2000, M.U.S.T. has rapidly developed into the largest multi-disciplinary university in Macao and is ranked among the Top 20 Universities in Greater China. M.U.S.T. is also ranked 32nd in the “Asia University Rankings” and “World Young University Rankings” respectively in 2021 by Times Higher Education. M.U.S.T. endeavors to educate students specialized in various fields, attaches equal importance to teaching and research, and has continuously reached new heights in academic development. Currently, the university offers 80 academic programs in 10 Faculties in diverse disciplines. M.U.S.T. now owns two state key laboratories, the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, and a number of prominent research centers such as Dr. Neher’s Biophysics Laboratory for Innovative Drug Discovery. Established in 2011, the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine is the first one in the field of Chinese medicine in China.

The SKL is particularly interested in the application of the cutting-edge technologies in multiple research areas: (1) Development of innovative technologies and methods for quality control and standardization of Chinese herbs, and chemical characterization of herbal components; (2) Bioactivity, pharmacology and mechanism studies on the active components of Chinese herbs; (3) New drug research and development.

The SKL now invites applications for multiple Faculty Positions (from Assistant Professor to Chair Professor) and administrative titles of Assistant Director, Deputy Director and Director. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in a research field relevant to Chinese medicine, biomedical science or pharmaceutical-related disciplines, including pharmacology, cell and tissue engineering, stem-cell or gene therapy, structural biology, oncology, bioinformatics, chemical biology, natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry or materials science. Successful candidate is expected to lead innovative and multidisciplinary research projects and possess excellent teaching skills and/or experience.

Qualifications

  • An earned Doctorate Degree in related discipline;
  • Bilingual teaching ability preferred;
  • Proven university teaching experience in related disciplines and strong experience in research records (with overseas experiences would be an advantage).

Remuneration Package

Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, professional experience and current position. Medical benefits, annual leave, provident fund, allowance and bonus, on job training program or overseas study opportunities will be provided by the University.
