Description

As the 2nd largest faculty of Macau University of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Humanities and Arts has gained substantial recognitions in Macau and the Asia-Pacific region. The Faculty aims to train comprehensive talents that are humanistic, creative and thoroughly enriched in both Chinese and western cultures.

To cope with our developmental plan, applications are invited from those with excellent academic achievements in Architectural research and design:

Professional Areas

  1. Architecture, Urban Planning and Design;
  2. Communication, Design, Fine Arts, Digital Media [Interaction Design (Major in Interactive Media); Animation Design (Major in Digital Media); Game Design (Major in Information Technology); Game Art & Animation Art (Major in Art);
  3. Film acting, Television acting, Stage acting, Theatrical performance, Cinematic Arts (Film Production, Sound design, Movie special effects, Script);
  4. Music Theory, Ethnomusicology, Music Education, Music Technology.

Qualifications

For Professional Areas 1.
- An earned Doctorate Degree in Architecture or Urban Planning and Design, and;
-Possess a bachelor’s degree in architecture (5-year Bachelor of Architecture preferred), and;
-Proven strong ability in architectural design (e.g., professional awards in architectural competition or design), and;
-For the applicant of Associate  Professor/ Professor, proven university teaching and research experience:

  1. PI of high-level research project in China or overseas, e.g., National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Science and Technology Support Program, National Social Science Fund of China.
  2. Research article published on architectural journals indexed by SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, CSSCI, CSCD.

-Bilingual teaching ability preferred.
-Registered Architect preferred.

For Professional Area 2. 
-An earned Doctorate Degree in related discipline;
-Bilingual teaching ability preferred;
-Proven university teaching experience in related disciplines and strong experience in research records (with overseas experiences would be an advantage).
*For the Digital Media area, candidates with qualifications as followings are preferred.
-Priority with the following professional and abilities:
-Game/mobile game programming
-Original painting for animation & games
-Image processing and graphics technology
-Animation design and animation software technology
-Game Theory and Strategy
-Proficient in using and teaching (one of) related software COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effect, premiere, Animate), Unity, Unreal, AI, sketch, c#, Python, etc. (or other related software).

For Professional Areas 3: Applicants are expected to be Master/Doctorate Degree holders in relevant disciplines from overseas universities, or demonstrate the high level professional training to an equivalent level. The appointee will participate in activities related to teaching, project supervision, internship supervision, guidance to students, etc. Experiences in tertiary education will be an advantage.

*For the Cinematic Arts area, candidates with qualifications as followings are preferred.
-Priority with the following professional and abilities:
-Experience in film production and shooting industry.
-Proficiency in post-production software for film and television production: Final Cut, Premiere, After Effects, Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator.

For Professional Areas 4: 

-Possess a Master’s or Doctorate degree in related discipline awarded by recognized local or overseas universities.
-Applicants with published research article on music or other interdisplinary journals indexed by SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, CSSCI will be given priority.
-Recipients pf recognized awards in music research, music production, or music performance will be given priority.
-Prior experience in managing or participating in significant local or overseas scientific research projects is preferred.

Remuneration Package

Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, professional experience and current position. Medical benefits, annual leave, provident fund, allowance and bonus, on job training program or overseas study opportunities will be provided by the University.
