The Role

Sustainable Futures is focused on climate action, environmental sustainability and decarbonisation in industry and enterprise. It aims to empower leaders to act so that humans and nature can thrive for generations to come. Programmes include part-time and full-time, online and in-person postgraduate programmes and continuous professional development offerings. 

Funded by the Higher Education Authority’s Human Capital Initiative, Sustainable Futures is led by University College Cork in collaboration with Maynooth University, Atlantic Technological University and multiple industry partners.

We are seeking an exceptional Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the Sustainable Futures Programme. The successful candidate will work as part of team in the Maynooth University School of business, conducting research, carrying out administrative duties, and contributing to the department’s seminars and meetings. They will also seek additional sources of funding to ensure the longevity and sustainability of the project.

Candidates should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in business or a related social science discipline. Areas of particular interest to the project include responsible management and innovation, sustainable enterprise, sustainability leadership, and environmental science, politics and justice. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the project, conducting key research arising from associated outputs. In addition, they will contribute to the publication of a textbook and podcast series associated with Sustainability in Enterprise and the Sustainable Futures Project as a whole.

Post-Doctoral Researcher Level 1(2023) Salary Scale: €42,033 p.a. (1 point)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
