The Research Associate will participate in a joint project between the groups of HK Ng and Y Gao in CQT, exploring the theory of quantum error correction and fault tolerance in the context of bosonic codes. The work will include analyzing the fault tolerance properties of bosonic code error-correcting circuits, inventing ways of implementing error-correction-relevant gate operations in superconducting bosonic systems, etc.
The project will be theory in nature, but the work will have close contact with the experiment. Techniques used will include numerical simulations and analytical calculations.
The candidate should have PhD experience working on aspects of quantum error correction and fault tolerance. Prior experience with bosonic codes and superconducting bosonic systems would be a strong plus point. A strong interest in understanding experimental details is a must. Numerical skills (e.g., coding in Python) are expected.
