We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a research project focused on soil microbiome impacts on crop stress tolerance.
Under PI Conor Meade, in the Biology Department, and Co-PI Gerry Lacey at the Dept. of Electronic Engineering, Maynooth University, the appointed researcher will be responsible for the establishment and management of a crop/ soil growth array, involving microbiome analysis and automated sensor analysis of plant health.
Required skills for the position include soil microbiome metabarcoding, ideally with recent published work, as well as recent research experience in plant ecophysiology, ideally including direct measurement of leaf photosystem performance. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of research leadership and independence, and a demonstrated ability to deliver and publish research findings from their previous work.
The post will be based at the Molecular Ecology Laboratory and the new Sustainable Agriculture Research Facility on the grounds of the MU Campus.

Salary
Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: €49,790 p.a. (1 point, with increment) Postdoctoral Researcher: €42,033 - €48,427 (6 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
