Position overview
The School of Politics and International Relations, the top ranked political science department in Australia, is seeking to make two 1-year, full-time academic appointments in Political Science.
The appointee will have an excellent record or demonstrated potential for excellence in education, and in research and publication. The candidate will contribute to the School’s undergraduate teaching in political science, particularly introduction to political science and political science research as well as Australian politics. As well as teaching, the appointee will be expected and given opportunity to undertake research relevant to their field of expertise, and to work collegially with other members of the school. The teaching load for this position is three-four courses per year. This position is based in Canberra and the successful applicant will be expected to teach on campus. Availability to start in January 2024 is highly desirable.
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 270 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public.
