Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Photography (Academic Level B/C)

• Based in UniSA Creative at the City West campus
• Full-time, continuing position
• Salary Range: Level B $109,074 - $128,877 / Level C $132,839 - $152,643 (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Lecturer is responsible for the development, delivery, and coordination of Photography courses within Creative's undergraduate and postgraduate programs and for contributing to the Academic Unit’s research agenda.  

The position will support and contribute independently and as part of a team to support the teaching and research outcomes and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly research and/or professional activities. 

The Senior Lecturer will make original and innovative contributions to and provide leadership within the Photography discipline and will be responsible for attracting competitive research and industry funding.

Essential Skills and Experience

• PhD qualification together with associated experience in research and teaching in Photography 
• Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and a commitment to contemporary theory and practice within the field of Photography 

Level B 

• Demonstrated commitment to establishing a program of research that demonstrates a growing publication record, and experience in the preparation of research grant applications and success in attracting research income commensurate with opportunity in the discipline
• Demonstrated high-quality teaching outcomes with evidence of a strong commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice and learning outcomes, in on-campus and online settings
• Demonstrated success in building relationships with industry and/or community for the benefit of teaching and research 

Level C

• Demonstrated establishment of a program of research that enhances the research profile of an institution by conducting research or scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team, which results in securing competitive funding, publications in refereed journals or high-quality creative research outputs 
• Demonstrated success in building relationships with industry and/or the community for the benefit of teaching and research 
• Demonstrated ability and experience in carrying out teaching activities in a wide range of related courses, which are academically relevant and reflect pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards 
• Demonstrated experience supervising higher degree by research candidates, particularly PhD, to timely completion
