The Department of English at the University of Southampton is looking to appoint a full-time permanent lecturer in Digital Literatures and Cultures (Education Research Enterprise - Balanced Pathway)

About the Role

We are seeking research-active candidates with expertise in any area of Digital Literary and Cultural Studies, interpreted broadly. You will have a PhD in English Literary Studies or a related area, expertise in digital literary and cultural studies (including the use of digital and/or computational methodologies), and a strong record of publications and/or digital outputs in your field. You will also have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or taught postgraduate level, ideally including in digital literary, cultural studies, and/or digital/computational methodologies.

Applicants may work with the literature and culture of any period, but we particularly welcome intersections with any of the department’s research strengths, including: digital editing; distant reading and cultural analytics; literary geographies; digital mapping and visualization; digital publication technologies and trends; digital reading practices; games and gaming cultures; fanfiction.
