The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position a Department head for:

Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses (m/f)

Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses is a scientific, educational and research institute of the Faculty of Medicine of MU, which deals with the solution of scientific projects and provision of related services, especially in the field of biological and clinical data analysis, organization and management of clinical studies and clinical research projects, software development and ICT applications. It also provides teaching of a number of courses for students of MU Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science in the field of analysis and modelling of biological and medical data, clinical studies and applied informatics.

The Head will be responsible for the management of the department's operations and economy, undergraduate student education, postgraduate studies, publications and coordination of the department's scientific research and commercial activities. During the selection process, the candidate for Head of the Department will present his/her vision to fulfil the above.

Requirements for a declared position:

  • University degree in a medical or natural science discipline, or equivalent education acquired abroad;
  • academic degree PhD or scientific rank of CSc;
  • habilitation within the meaning of the Higher Education Act, as amended;
  • the scientific-pedagogical title of professor is an advantage;
  • personal and professional requirements for managing the medical and academic team of the department;
  • teaching experience and readiness to guarantee vocational subjects taught at the workplace;
  • active research and publishing activities;
  • scientific reputation in the international field;
  • extensive experience in contract research;
  • moral integrity;
  • fulfilment of prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the Lustration Act); does not have to document persons born after 1 December 1971 and foreign applicants.
