The Job

We are seeking to appoint a Research Development Manager (Maternity Cover) to join the Research and Development Support (ReDS) Team within the Office for Postgraduates, Research and Engagement (OPRE) to provide high quality support for our research community in the development, submission, and set up of research and knowledge exchange grants. As part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people who share a passion for creating positive change. Working closely with academics and Directors of Impact and Innovation across a broad range of disciplines, you will target support effectively as we deliver our Vision 2028 ambition to grow research and knowledge exchange income to increase the economic, social, and cultural impact of our activities to the communities we serve.

This role is fixed term, maternity cover, lasting 8-9 months from 1st December 2023.

The Person

You will bring experience of successfully providing specialist advice and support to researchers for the development of externally funded projects at a UK HEI. With detailed knowledge of UK funding schemes and experience of researching and assessing funding mechanisms and sponsors in the UK and overseas, you will also have experience of working with colleagues to develop appropriately costed budgets.
