Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating journey with the UCB Business School? We are looking for a Lecturer in Accounting who not only imparts knowledge but also ignites inspiration in our students. A centre of vocational learning and professional development for over 120 years, we take pride in sculpting the future of budding professionals, and we're seeking a lecturer who's driven by a passion for teaching, nurturing student growth, and leaving an indelible mark on lives.
Amidst our expanding student community and ever-evolving academic landscape, this is a fantastic time to become part of the University College Birmingham team. In 2022, we entered a unique collaborative partnership with the University of Warwick. Ranked eighth among UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2023 and ninth in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023, Warwick are committed to partnering with us on a full range of projects which will enhance student and staff opportunity.
At UCB, we're not just a University; we're a bridge to industry. We're dedicated to fostering connections between our students and business leaders, and we're eager to welcome someone who shares this vision. So while a suitable academic or professional qualification is of course essential, we would particularly welcome applications from candidates with professional experience in either an accounting practice or a business setting who can translate practical know-how into cutting-edge, interactive, and engaging lessons for our learners.
As an institution, we invest in our team members, offering ample opportunities for professional growth. If you don’t currently have a teaching qualification, we will support you to achieve one, and you’ll be mentored by experienced teachers who will help you to add classroom skills to your existing professional credibility.
The University has invested £140 million in new teaching and other facilities over the last ten years, including several new campus teaching buildings, which can be seen virtually on our website www.ucb.ac.uk. We are well resourced and committed to the further enhancement of our students’ learning and our colleagues’ professional development.
So, are you ready to inspire, educate, and embark on a transformative journey with us at UCB?
If you are, we’re happy to have an informal discussion about the role. Please contact Paul Massiah – Head of Business and Enterprise –p.massiah@ucb.ac.uk
