Research Associate / Post-Doctoral Fellow, Cellular Imaging
Employment Type: Full - time (35 hoursa week)
Duration: 1-Year Fixed Term, starting January 2024
Remuneration: From $106,337 base (+ 17% Superannuation and leave loading)
Visa: Full working rights for the duration of the contract will be required

Why this role matters
You will be is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their field of research. The purpose of this position is to establish protocols and analysis pipelines for creating and imaging three dimensional cellular constructs. The position will enable the advancement of knowledge in the field of cellular mechanosensing in 3D and advanced 4D imaging using bioprinting, multimodal imaging and analysis. You will drive a project to advance multimodal imaging, with a focus on cellular mechanosensing, in the cellular mechanotransduction group, in close collaboration with the Katharina Gaus Light Microscopy Facility.
Who you are:
- A PhD in quantitative cellular imaging, and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience with light microscopy imaging techniques is essential (both acquisition and analysis of quantitative imaging data)
- Experience with bioprinting is advantageous
- Experience in mechanobiology is advantageous
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
