DAVID PRICE EVANS, TENURE TRACK RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE (LECTURER TRACK)

Following the appointment of Professor Alison Holmes [liverpool.ac.uk] to the David Price Evans Chair of Infectious Diseases and Global Health, [news.liverpool.ac.uk] the University of Liverpool is looking to invest further in research within this strategic area. A number of academic posts under Professor Holmes’ leadership are now available at levels from Tenure Track Research Fellow up to Reader in any of broad range of areas relevant to the field.

Successful applicant will benefit from an excellent and collaborative multidisciplinary environment, a critical mass of research in the area, including the newly launched CAMO-Net [camonet.org] project, and extensive physical infrastructure and facilities [liverpool.ac.uk] required to undertake world-leading research.

You must have a competitive research track-record, evidenced through publications and funding, commensurate with the level at which you are applying. You must also have a demonstrable interest in Infectious Diseases and/or Antimicrobial Resistance and a clear strategy for the development of an externally funded independent research programme.

The applicants’ research interests will be expected to align with, and complement, the interests of the David Price Evans Group, [liverpool.ac.uk] which has a particular focus on antimicrobial resistance and the need to optimise antimicrobial therapy including but not limited to:

  • Infectious Disease Epidemiology Adoption of technological and behavioural interventions
  • Rapid novel diagnostic development Molecular microbiology Antimicrobial Pharmacodynamics and Therapeutics  Prevention of infection AI
  • Bioinformatics Implementation Health systems and policy research

The post is for 5 years ‘Tenure-Track’, if successful in ‘Confirmation in Appointment’ at year 3 will be made permanent.
